TGST-bassplayer releases record on japanese Atelier Sawano

Anton Blomgren, the swedish bassplayer of The Göteborg String Theory, has now released the record "Kaleidoscope" on the japanese major label Atelier Sawano (www.jazz.sawano.com) with the swedish/japanese group Naoko Sakata trio. Just a few days after official release, "Kaleidoscope" went up to be the #1 on toplist of the most sold records!

Saturday the 30th of October, the trio played in Umeå jazzfestival, where they also were recorded and filmed by Swedish Radio and the Swedish Television, SVT.

The releaseparty will be on wednesday the 1th of December on the club Parken in Göteborg. The record will be sold to a special price. Everyone is extremely welcome!

The documentary "The Extraordinary Ordinary Life of José Gonzalez" by Fredrik Egerstrand and Mikel Cee Karlssons opens the 33:rd Göteborg International Film Festival and is the first film in the Nordic Competition.

With a combination of video diary, surveillance camera, concert and tour footage as well as animations the filmmakers Mikel Cee Karlssonand Fredrik Egerstrand have followed one of Swedens most interesting artists – José Gonzalez.

– It is a fantastic film. Not only a portrait of one of Swedens finest artists but also a successful attempt to portray the creative process which turns it in to a forceful defence of the beauty of art and the people creating it, says Festival Director Marit Kapla.

According to the physical string theory the world consist of a kind of one-dimensional vibrating lines, referred to as strings. When these are put together in our way occurs a fantastic meeting between the Berlin music scene and some the most vibrating artists from Göteborg.
Midaircondo, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Pacific!, Studio, Jaqee, Hajen, Silverbullit, El Perro Del Mar, José González, Fox Machine, Ebbot Lundberg (The Soundtrack of Our Lives) and Jmy Haze are among those local artists that will collaborate with representatives of the art-electro-collective Warren Suicide, the production team Transporterraum and the Party Arty beat poetry club from Berlin in the music-art-project "The Göteborg String Theory".

Selected songs by mentioned artists were arranged by the composers Nackt, Ben Lauber & Nils Tegen for the string quartet Qvartiett and other classical musicians. Together with the artists the new renditions were rehearsed and documented during a five day workshop and then performed for the first time at the Clandestino Festival (see below for artist line-up). Next performance will be at a concert hall in Göteborg yet to be announced.

The idea of the musical String Theory was born in Berlin in 2007 and developed by Nackt, Chérie, Yaneq and Ben Lauber among others. The first ever appearance is known as The Berlin String Theory which involved more than 100 musicians, artists, producers, journalists, designers, technicians, visual artists, a documentary film team, painters and poets.
Berlin was the ignition spark and Göteborg is the explosion: a cross-artistic international Big Bang, involving even more people contributing to this unique project.

The Göteborg String Theory is arranged by the Signal society in cooperation with Clandestino Festival, with kind support from Västra Götalandsregionen, Goethe Institut, Göteborg & Co, Kokokaka, Kning Disk and Konstnärsnämnden. Artistic directors for The Göteborg String Theory are Sebastian Gäbel and Nathalie Barusta Gäbel.
